چکیده
i Preface efore starting the actual thesis dissertation, I would like to give to the reader some information about the context in which this research work took place. This research has been done in the CEXAS team of the LIRIS laboratory (formerly in the LISI laboratory), in the university of Lyon I. B It has been started in November 1999 under the supervision of pr. Jean-Marc Fouet, and later on, after Jean-Marc passed away, under the supervision of Salima Hassas, and the co-supervision of pr. Alain Mille. During the first year, I have also been supervised by pr. Kwang-Young Lee, from the AI laboratory of KAIST (Korean Institute of Science and Technology), in Taejon, South Korea. Initially, this PhD was to be done in co-supervision between these two universities (in France we call such co-supervised PhD " cotutelle "). Unfortunately for administrative reasons, this collaboration has been turned into a simple exchange year in KAIST, which has not prevented me from taking a great benefit, scientifically as well as personally, from this wonderful experience. After my return in June 2000, I spent my second PhD year in Lyon I. But I had to go to national service after that, in November 2001, interrupting the PhD for 18 months, in Laos and Vietnam. This long interruption had some consequences on my research, that I had to update after my return in May 2002 because of the rapid evolution of MAS even in such a 18 months period. Overall, these two environment changes and this interruption have been both a difficulty and a source of inspiration, and somehow contributed to the fact that the research is divided into three quite distinct parts, even though these three parts are the logical continuity of each other. Acknowledgments would like to especially thank Salima Hassas, whose confidence in my work and diligence have made this thesis possible. I am also grateful to Alain Mille which has been able to take over, after my former adviser pr. Jean-Marc Fouet passed away, despite the great diversity of research directions in our team.

Dynamic Multi-agent Architecture Using Conversational Role Delegation
This paper discusses the notions of dynamic composition and dynamic architectures, in the context of conversational multi-agents systems, as well as distributed component oriented or object based systems. The directory service or facilitator agent paradigm, commonly used for building architectures exhibiting these properties, is examined and discussed. It is then compared with a proposed altern...
متن کاملA Role-Based Approach in Dynamic Task Delegation in Agent Teamwork
This paper presents a role-based agent teamwork language called RoB-MALLET (Role-Based Multi-Agent Logic Language for Encoding Teamwork). Roles have been used to form multi-agent theories and guide the construction of multi-agent architectures and systems. Different from the most existing agent teamwork models that emphasize practical reasoning based on beliefs, desires and intentions (BDI), a ...
متن کاملAdaptive neural control of nonlinear fractional order multi- agent systems in the presence of error constraintion
In this paper, the problem of fractional order multi-agent tracking control problem is considered. External disturbances, uncertainties, error constraints, transient response suitability and desirable response tracking problems are the challenges in this study. Because of these problems and challenges, an adaptive control and neural estimator approaches are used in this study. In the first part...
متن کاملRole Delegation as Multi-Agent Oriented Dynamic Composition
In the context of highly heterogeneous, complex and dynamic systems, we can compare distributed object based and component based approaches, that were first centered on the idea of composition and modularity, where dynamicity has become an issue afterward, with MAS approaches, whose first concern was the dynamicity, and where composition was in the beginning rather considered as an implementati...
متن کاملUser-based Vehicle Route Guidance in Urban Networks Based on Intelligent Multi Agents Systems and the ANT-Q Algorithm
Guiding vehicles to their destination under dynamic traffic conditions is an important topic in the field of Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS). Nowadays, many complex systems can be controlled by using multi agent systems. Adaptation with the current condition is an important feature of the agents. In this research, formulation of dynamic guidance for vehicles has been investigated based...
متن کاملA class of multi-agent discrete hybrid non linearizable systems: Optimal controller design based on quasi-Newton algorithm for a class of sign-undefinite hessian cost functions
In the present paper, a class of hybrid, nonlinear and non linearizable dynamic systems is considered. The noted dynamic system is generalized to a multi-agent configuration. The interaction of agents is presented based on graph theory and finally, an interaction tensor defines the multi-agent system in leader-follower consensus in order to design a desirable controller for the noted system. A...
